Johnny Silverhand

Here's my Johnny Silverhand cosplay I completed for San Diego Comic Con 2022. 

I didn't really document the building process, so here are all the pictures I have from it:

The arm components:

All the silver parts were 3D printed

The "muscles" were 2mm eva foam

The wires and cables where actual wires and cables.

The vest was made from eva foam then spray adhesive was used to stick on a nifty black fabric I found.

The I weathered it with a rotary tool with sanding drum bit. 

Used my vinyl cutter (Cricut Explore Air2) to make a painting template then airbrushed the oni mask and Samurai text

Cut a thin piece of aluminum then acid etched the text and bar code-looking thing on the dogtags.

Also created some rings from thin strips of aluminum and one cheap aluminum flashlight. 

Made a quick black leather bracelet.

Found leather pants on Esty.

Used airbrush and some oil pastels to weather them up a bit.

Belt is made of eva foam and the silver bullet-looking details were wooden dowels

My friends and I kept a running tally of how many times I was called "Bucky" or "Winder Solider."
I found this guy to take a pic illustrating the difference lol. 

I mean, it kinda fits right? They can certainly help with this city I have to burn. FFFFFire!

Trying to emote in a Johnny-like fashion.

Not Johnny's Porsche 911, but a 911 at Comic Con none the less.

Much like my very first San Diego Comic Con where I went as Adam Jensen and there was an Eidos Montreal Deus Ex booth, this year, for some reason, there was a CD Projekt Red Cyberpunk 2077 booth.

..and then there's this chicken guy.

Destiny 2: Hunter Sword: Quick Fang

That Quick Fang sure is wicked. Lets make it!

First we 3D model it , then we 3D print it.

At first I didn't know whether or not I was going to make molds, I painted the 3D print.

Later on, I decided to make molds, so here we go!

One-part mold for the grip

I hate fiber-glass. It's coarse, and it gets everywhere. Haha. No really, it's both those things.

I wrapped the grip in aluminum foil to make a pattern

As usual, there's a gap in my progress pictures. Then again, do you really wanna see all the stages of painting?

In game, the "Veist" logo is very subtle but it is there. For this prop, I used a vinyl stencil that I had a friend make for me. Then I just sprayed some gloss clear coat on it. So basically, like in game, you really don't see the logo unless you tilt the sword.

It doesn't show up in these pics, but the darker upper part of the blade has color-shift paint on it. At different angles, the highlight is either purple or green. -That's how it is in game.

I was able to order some lime-green-colored perforated vinyl for the grip which was perfect!
